Google Launches New Local Search Features

The Live View search lets you type in an object and see it displayed on a street-level map Earlier this year, Google announced upcoming changes to its local search features. New features include the ability to search your surroundings with your phone’s camera, an option to search for restaurants by dish, and a new search capability built into Google Maps' Live View. Live View search lets you type in an object and see it displayed on a street-level map. Google Lens' "multisearch near me" feature is launching today in the U.S. Now, you can use Lens in the Google app to take a picture or screenshot of a dish, add the words "near me," and find a place that sells it nearby. Google's search engine can now be used to find wheelchair accessible and stair-free locations worldwide. Additionally, users can filter for EV charging stations that offer their preferred plug type in more countries. These features are now live on Android and iOS devices in countries where EV charging stations are available.
