Twitter is launching Community Notes around the globe, allowing anyone to review and give ratings to fact-check entries from other users. People may register to become Community Notes moderators, which gives them the power to add notes to tweets and rate notes from other moderators. Previously called Birdwatch, this feature is now available all over the world. Previously, the feature of viewing and rating notes on Twitter was only available to users in the US. This has changed, however, as the platform has made Community Notes available across the globe. In order to continue expanding, Twitter is now set to bring on moderators from other countries. There are three steps that need to be taken in order to join the Community Notes program on the social media site. Twitter requires that you consent to the conditions all your posts and ratings will be visible to the public. The terms state: “We aim to have everybody able to recognize and assess how Community Notes operates. As a result, all your notes and scores are available for all to see.”
