Google Analytics - New Statistics to GA4 Properties

Google Analytics is introducing two new statistics to GA4 properties which will offer a better understanding of how many webpages people view during a session and how much time they remain on the page. Views per session will observe the amount of app screens or webpages users look at in one visit. Average session duration will measure the length of time a person stays on the website. It is possible that your UA reporting data may be influenced by factors such as geographical location and UTM tagging. One should also take into account the time zones of users and the probability of them restarting a session past midnight when noting the differences in session counts. It is also important to remember that the data displayed in UA reporting may be filtered, thereby eliminating certain data. GA4 properties are able to accurately calculate the amount of sessions taking place on a website or app with minimal error, by making an estimation based on the number of distinct session IDs. On the contrary, UA properties do not estimate the number of sessions and rely solely on the direct counting of the sessions.
