Twitter is expanding the visibility of its recommended tweets so that they can be seen by all users, including those that had not before. The purpose of this modification is to guarantee that all Twitter followers can have access to the most interesting content. This doesn't guarantee that people who already had seen these recommended tweets will become inundated with them. Twitter is transitioning to a format similar to that of TikTok; the sequence of posts appear to be tailored to each user's habits and not to who they follow. The extent of agreement or disagreement can be seen by how people respond to these changes, very few of which have an option to be switched off. In the meanwhile, selecting the sparkle icon will allow access to an unfiltered version of the site's content. Elon Musk recently declared that he prefers a time-based feed over an algorithmic one. To help with this, Twitter initiated an update to its suggestion algorithm to indicate more timely tweets. If a user does not want to see a particular tweet from a specific account, they can mention "not interested" or just mute the account so it won't appear in any future recommendations.
