Google Updates Review Snippet Structured Data

Google has updated the review snippet structured data to ensure that numbers are written in the same way throughout the code. This change will bring about consistency in the way numbers are written, rather than having different versions for different countries. According to Google's documentation, a review snippet is "a short excerpt of a review or a rating from a review website". Google is changing how structured data is written, specifically with decimal points. In some countries, commas are used to separate the main number from the decimal or cents. For example, one hundred euros and twenty five cents can be written in two ways. This change will not affect how it is displayed on the visible web page. The review snippet structured data documentation is remaining nearly the same. Although Google recommends the use of dots, commas are still okay to use and will still be eligible for review snippets. However, Google provides a log of changes made to their developer documentation on their changelog, which states that commas are now acceptable. Therefore, it is a good practice to make things easy for the search engines by using commas.
