You can now watch YouTube Shorts on your television in a format optimized for TV viewing. The additional space on the wider screen is used to display information about the video. TV models manufactured in 2019 or later, as well as newer game consoles, will have the option to watch shorts. Google's video-sharing platform experimented with using a standard video player and a "jukebox" style format. Since the release of YouTube Shorts, the platform has been gaining in popularity, with 30 million daily views as of April this year. With the release of Shorts for televisions, YouTube should have a significant advantage over its competitors.
